SUPPORT

“Like it! Rave on” (James Zabiela)

“Love it!” (Rob Da Bank)

“Innovative, energetic and damn naughty music” (Data Transmission)

“Tune [Sherlock] is wicked really dig it – will def give it a spin out! Nice 1” (Kid Kenobi)

Last summer Foamo, or Kye Gibbon as his stamp battered passport purports his identity, rolled out three singles in conjunction with his monthly residency at We Love… Space in Ibiza. The tracks received rave reviews; alongside the glee ridden quotes of the above they saw support from a who’s who of modern dance music, Basement Jaxx, Skream, MJ Cole, Roska, Zinc, Boy 8-Bit and Drop The Lime were all among the high profile fans who supported the release.

Now ‘Celestial’, ‘Ocean Drive’ and ‘Vibrations’ are forming the basis for a mini album to be released on Fat! records, bolstered by five brand new tracks which have already ignited a flurry of support from a who’s who of the djing world. When filling in for Annie Mac on BBC Radio One Skream dropped ‘Sherlock’, a dirty bass rumbler that features snippets of UK garage esque vocals underpinning a melancholic breakdown that explodes rapidly into a filth laden powerhouse.

Elsewhere the music on offer represents the multi-faceted approach Foamo brings to his productions and DJ sets, with hints of house, bass music, electro and techno all peppering the release. ‘Tambor’ looks to be the EP’s second breakout production, a fidgeting house groove that cleverly juxtaposes main room appeal with a more laid back aesthetic. ‘There for Me’ is a brilliant main room slab of old school rave nonsense which blends scattershot drum patterns with rave stabs and sirens.

‘Rumours’ starts in classic tech house fashion before morphing into an acid house growler, the Steve Poindexter esque hi-hats pulsating perfectly with the oscillating bassline. And finally, ‘Corridor’ erupts with a flurry of jack hammer drums before being engulfed by a wobbling bassline, swaggering nonchalantly before disintegrating into a flurry of sawing synth stabs. It’s hedonistic music for the more forward thinking patrons of dancefloor escapism, a sound that is big and clever.

Foamo, 24, is best known for releases such as ‘Jookie’, ‘Centavo’ and ‘Generate Some Heat’.  He has already established himself as one of the best producers to come out of the UK in recent years, known for the depth and quality of his engineering skills whilst gaining the support of DJs across the globe including Brodinski, Diplo, Armand Van Helden and many more.

KID MASSIVE

‘One of the fore runners of producers that has had the biggest impact on my dance floor’
- Roger Sanchez

It is hard to believe that, given the already impressive career of the Danish dance producer, it had taken Kid Massive this long to release a debut solo album.  With the recently released “A Little Louder”, the first single from the album of the same name, “A Little Louder”, featuring legendary house vocalist Peyton, has blown up to epic proportions with an incredible list of achievements.

All of this successfully paved the way for the second album single “Don’t Cry” and the eagerly awaited third single “Yawn” – a fun fuelled collaboration with UK pop starlet Sam Obernik and Dutch MC Jay Colin, sure to take the world by storm. A hit in the making, the release and accompanying video will be out before the end of the year and will cause fans to do anything but yawn! The album itself will follow in early 2012, with a dynamic range of music featuring diverse vocal collaborations.

Rewind. It all started for Benjamin Pedersen back in the early noughties, gaining recognition as one part of the dance act Geeza. Fusing electro-clash, punk and hooligan house, Geeza went on to record the critically acclaimed album, “This Is Beyond Criticism”. Following this, he changed direction and went on to mastermind and produce a downbeat jazz album entitled “Suite Dreams” under the guise of Malou, which became a radio sensation in his home country of Denmark and neighbouring Sweden. Fast forward to 2010 where he had clocked up support from dance music’s elite including Roger Sanchez, TV Rock, Bob Sinclar, Eddie Thoneick and Avicii to name a few. And now 2012 with his highly acclaimed debut solo album.

Alongside his own production work, KM is also label manager of the swiftly rising imprint Get Down Recordings. With an upcoming release schedule packed with fresh and exciting talent from around the world, Get Down has become synonymous with the discovery of exciting, forward-thinking house music and the promotion of talented emerging and established artists.

OLIVER TWIZT
As the producer of Skitzofrenix he remixed Gregor salto, Sidney Samson and Debonair Samir to name a few. But in 2008 the artist Oliver Twizt was born after deciding to go solo and also taking over the decks. His first solo track “Do The Monkey” (ft Roga) entered the Uk Buzz Charts at number 4, had an official video broadcasting on MTV and got support from artists like Roger Sanchez, Sander van Doorn, Carl Cox and Judge Jules.

Oliver Twizt started taking over charts with tracks like “Underground”, “Finally” (w. Bart B More, #2 Beatport Chart), “You’re Not Alone” (#1 PH chart Beatport and “Another Step” which was a top 10 best sold Hed Kandi record in 2009. He remixed Bart B More, Sander van Doorn, Erick E and more!

Oliver already has more than 10 tracks ready to hit this year.  He started with the Dutch titled “Wil Jij Dansen” (ft Divine) on Spinnin Records, which is madly supported by all Dutch Jocks.

Next stop was “Gangsterdam” on Laidback Luke’s Mighty Mixmash. It got full support from David Guetta (quote: “I love the Oliver Twizt, it’s gangster!”) Sidney Samson, Chuckie and Laidback Luke himself!

Oliver just finished up tracks for his smashing EP on Diplo’s Maddecent and has signed his tracks “Headbanger” and “Bimma” (ft. Bassjackers) to Sneakerz Muzik.

He played the big events and clubs like Creamfields (UK), Junk Club (Uk), Emporium (NL) and Latin Village (NL) and more is yet to come!

ARNO COST
Since his discovery in 2006, French DJ/Producer Arno Cost has quickly moulded his reputation as one of the scenes most promising young talents. With his musical sensibilities residing within the realms of electronica, disco and house, Arnos’ production and remix work has attracted praise from some of dance music’s most formidable figures, including Pete Tong, Tom Novy and Sebastian Ingrosso.

Arno’s name was lavished with a great deal more attention in 2006 following the release of his first smash hit, the elegantly crafted ‘Magenta’ which he composed alongside Arias. Arno’s next Cr2 release was 2007’s ‘Apocalypse’ with Norman Doray. With no doubt as to the potency of Arno’s partnership with production buddies Doray and de la Touche, the status as France’s answer to the Swedish House Mafia is one increasingly linked to the Parisian contingent. Arno has been called on to remix for Laidback Luke, David Guetta and Zoo Brazil’s ‘Kalle’ on Nero Records.

In 2008, Arno released electronic smash ‘Souvenir’ and ‘Golden Walls’, collaboration with Sweden’s John Dahlback. Both received glowing reports and support from the likes of Axwell and Steve Angello. 2011 has seen a new flurry of hot productions hit the waves for Arno Cost. First, he unleashed the dancefloor smash “The Days To Come” via Atlantic Records. “Lise” which immediately followed on Refune, merged dark, underground production techniques with a main room, floor-filling sensibility.

Arno is a man who is increasingly in demand and with the additional creative outlet of The Freshmakers at his disposal; his talents are now a source of acute excitement amongst DJs, producers and house music revellers alike.

“Everybody Get Up” continues to top the ARIA CLUB CHART and Seany B’s new collaboration with Bombs Away announced

March 1, 2012toApril 28, 2012

For immediate release:

“Everybody Get Up” continues to top the ARIA CLUB CHART and Seany B’s new collaboration with Bombs Away announced

”Everybody Get Up” held the #1 chart position in the ARIA CLUB CHART for 4 consecutive weeks – this is a welcome result for Jam Xpress and hip-house singer/MC Seany B, the artist boasting the sexiest voice on the planet. Being the first Aussie act to enjoy the top spot in over 6 months, the superstars hold strong at #2, whilst “Everybody Get Up” is makes its way to radio.

This collaboration sets the pace for Seany B, who has stacks of singles slated to release over the coming months; including a new collaboration with Bombs Away. Their new single “Get Stoopid” is due to drop at the end of March.

To add to the excitement, fans will not only enjoy Seany B. on the airwaves, but they may catch one of his live performances across Australia. A jam-packed tour is in store for Seany B who has nearly 20 shows scheduled in March and April.  When club owners or producers need an artist who draws crowds by virtue of his presence or can hit the highest notes and bamboozle listeners with tongue-twisting rhymes, Seany B’s their man.

That’s why TV Rock chose the Melbournian’s infectious wordplay for Australia’s best ever dance production, “Flaunt It”, the critically-acclaimed single which won ARIA’s “Best Dance” and “Highest Selling Single” awards alongside an APRA publishing award. The same explanation applies for Australia’s pop darling, Vanessa Amorosi, collaborating with Seany B on “Mr. Mysterious”, the platinum-selling, top ten charting colossal hit of 2010. And that’s why premier Australian duo, The Stafford Brothers (“Speaker Freakers”) as well as international big shots Hoxton Whores (“The Other Side”) and D.O.N.S (“Monster” and “Rollin’ Deep”) have enlisted his services. Seany B’s the definition of musical success.

ABOUT DERRICK MAY

The story goes that in the mid ‘80s, May – also known as Rhythim is Rhythim, joined forces with Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins (who became known as the Belleville Three) to fashion a completely new genre of music that, today, we all take for granted.

May is credited with shaping and steering house music’s future. The Belleville Three tested the limits of electronic music and changed it forever. Call May a visionary – the music now commonly known as ‘techno’, is May’s invention.

May’s ability to connect what is in his head with the feelings of what is on the dance floor is known the world over – his dedication to perfection is celebrated.

His production and solo recording exploits may have halted over the past decade but his legacy has rolled on throughout the years, thanks to numerous remixes, re-works and collaborations with some of the most experimental musicians going, including Depeche Mode and ABC.

What makes a Derrick May DJ set so uniquely exceptional is his ability to intermingle genres, taking records of years past and making them work in today’s crowded musical sphere. Take Icon, a May masterpiece, where the strings sound just as powerful and prevalent today as they did years ago.

The ‘classic’ Derrick May noise is a finite balance between percussion-laded cascades of sound complemented with samples and melody.  If you want to know what makes Derrick May special, listen to any of his mixes to discover how he inspires people to love techno for what it is – not the sub-culture, the drugs or the mystique, it’s all about the music.

May has performed around the globe for over two decades and honed his Transmat techno label into one of the most respected outputs in the world. A pioneer of techno, May produces Hi-Tek Soul or “George Clinton meeting Kraftwerk in an elevator.” May makes techno poetry – hear him live and expect a night of unrefined emotion delivered with passion.

Thick as Thieves presents Rogerseventytwo Australian tour

Having teased us with hints at a possible stopover to Australia in the past, Thick as Thieves is pleased to announce Rogerseventytwo will make his Oz debut next month on Australia Day eve and will tour nationwide over 3 weekends.

One half of TWR72, Rogerseventytwo has been a favourite of everyone from Erol Alkan and Brodinski to Diplo and A-Trak with jams like “Future Tool” and “Summer”. But ever since his first Fools Gold release “You Take Me Higher” Rogerseventytwo has started to make waves all on his own.

Hailing from The Hague, Netherlands, Rogerseventytwo started producing in the early 2000s but took a break to finish up his studies in graphic design. It didn’t last long though as fellow countrymen Laidback Luke, Bart B More and Bingo Players got him right back in to the producing game saving dancefloor around the world.

After spending a staggering 8 weeks on top of the Aria Club Charts this year, Rogerseventytwo’s irresistible disco house sing-along “You Take Me Higher” went unsigned for months and months until A-Trak (who had made it a staple of his live sets, both solo and as Duck Sauce with Armand Van Helden) snapped it up for Fool’s Gold.

Don’t miss Rogerseventytwo on his first-ever Australian tour:

Australian TourKonkrete Agency Presents:

LAIDBACK LUKE

Australian tour

Born in Manila but educated in The Netherlands, Laidback Luke has come a long way since his days as a graffiti artist.

“A lot of times I just produce in airports, on airplanes and in hotel rooms. I love producing as it’s the thing I love to do most. If I have the choice between watching a new movie or producing a new track, it’s always to produce. I’m a produce-aholic.”

That’s Laidback Luke for you. Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen is quite a mouthful, so it’s good that he’s known as the Dutch Dynamo, Laidback Luke. If the windows are bulging, the speakers bursting and people dancing, chances are the crafty cat that is Laidback Luke is somewhere nearby.

Laidback Luke grew up in The Netherlands and made his name as a graffiti artist before he turned to making music.  As a youngster, Luke loved guitars, graffiti, house and hip-hop – he took his ‘laidback’ moniker from Snoop Dogg’s Gin & Juice.  The first time Luke tackled electronic music was at a friend’s digs who just happened to own a Commodore Amiga. He showed Luke that he, too, could make songs with bits and pieces of other songs using technology.  It was then Luke discovered he wanted to make his own music. And the rest, as they say, is history.

His mentor, Dobre (Chocolate Puma), helped find his feet in the sometimes murky world of electronica, and by the time 1996 arrived, the Dutchman had released tracks, remixes and was DJ professionally. One achievement to note is his triumph at a Dutch DMC championship.

His first album arrived in 1999 before his 2002 album, Electronic Satisfaction, propelled him to greatness. Luke has worked alongside the stalwarts of electronic music – The Swedish House Mafia (Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello) as well as David Guetta, Moby, Black Eyed Peas and Junior Sanchez. Oh, he’s also remixed for the legendary Daft Punk, Dizzee Rascal, Depeche Mode and MSTRKRFT.  And if that’s not enough to wet your appetite, his collaboration with the Swedish House Mafia on Leave the World Behind became Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune and one of Beatport’s best-selling tracks.

Luke’s not just a talented DJ, producer, remixer and artist, he’s also a damn savvy operator as his Mixmash record label proves. What makes Luke a standout is his blistering approach to basslines – if the needle’s in the red, it must sound good. Just don’t be fooled by his laidback moniker. Sure, he’s got over 190,000 Twitter followers and boards more flights in a year than many will board in their lifetime, yet get him behind the decks when the music’s jumping and Luke is anything but laidback.

Thick as Thieves presents FRITZ KALKBRENNER Australian tour confirmed for one weekend this December

On the back of his Melbourne showcase on Friday 16th December, with Octave One and John Roberts,

Fritz Kalkbrenner is set to sway crowds with his unique take on techno in his solo shows as part of his epic world tour for debut album ‘Here

Today Gone Tomorrow’. With a show already announced at Billboard in

Melbourne, we can now confirm a second performance at Chinese Laundry in Sydney on the 17th of December.

Fritz made his first impressions on the electronic music community as a vocalist, lending his pipes to productions by the likes of Sasha Funke, Alexander Kowalski, Monika Kruse. Fritz most notably helped brother Paul Kalkbrenner, adding vocals for ‘Sky and Sand’ that featured on the ‘Berlin Calling’ soundtrack. His first longplayer as a techno artist was no less stunning, with last year’s ‘Here Today Gone Tomorrow’ dishing up vocal techno of the highest order. Recruiting the likes of Paul Kalkbrenner, Booka Shade, Sasha Funke, Henrik Schwarz and co. for remixing duties on album singles ‘Kings in Exile’, Right in the Dark’ and ‘Facing the Sun’.

So if you don’t catch the German DJ/Producer’s techno-soul at the Octave One, Fritz Kalkbrenner and John Roberts show don’t miss his individual show in Sydney.
