Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Ahmet Sendil is the man responsible for bringing electronic music to the forefront in his country and is globally revered as a world class DJ and producer.
His success did not come overnight; Sendil has been DJing for over 2 decades, starting his DJ career at Istanbul’s Studio 54 in 1989 and has been behind the decks in almost every major club in Turkey. Over the years he has honed in on his DJ skills via residencies at Switch, Club 14, Club 20 and London, Italy and Cyprus. Leading the dance pack, Sendil also holds a Friday night residency at the dance music station Radio FG 93.7.
Sendil has found fans across the globe with his open-minded attitude to music and production, and is a pioneer for the electronic, down-tempo, and house music scenes. His versatility has seen him performing alongside internationally acclaimed DJs and producers from the world over, including Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Dave Angel, Moloko, Red Snapper and Kosheen.
A desire to breach musical and technological boundaries pushed Sendil into production, and soon Live Notebook Sessions was born. 2003 saw him founding his own record label, M-Vitamine, through a platform used to release his own music and cultivate other artists in the industry.
Nominated for the Best Minimal Artist category in the Beatport awards (2009), Sendil is without a doubt a forerunner in this genre. Reflecting his rank as a world-class producer, Sendil continuously tops the Beatport charts with remixes of Federico Milani’s ‘Hooker’; Alex Kenji’s ‘Adelante’ and Nico Diorio’s ‘Shop’ reaching #1 alongside making the #2 spot with a remix of ‘Don’t Get Lost’ on his other label Bosphorus Underground.
