bkBK returns to Australia 12-25 April 2010

The most prolific Hard Dance Producer of all time BK (a.k.a Ben Keen) is hitting the Australian scene in April. BK is known for reinvented the genre of hard house with worldwide dance chart hits like “Music Is Moving” and “Revolution” and breathing new life into the style. It’s a long awaited return and now he’ll be back blowing up the dance floor with trance, techno and hard house.

.

Renown for being full of energy, putting on his first tune and ‘just feeling the bass kick in’ is what gets him energised. BK admits he loves looking down at the dancefloor and seeing thousands of hands in the air going nuts.   BK became a household name when he was made resident DJ at London’s biggest club event Riot!. Since the club night’s inception in 2000, he has performed at Riot! alongside the biggest names in dance circles, including Paul Van Dyk, Sven Vath, Lab 4, Anne Savage, Kamui, Judge Jules, Scot Project and stacks more. Today BK owns Riot! outright and has made the club brand hotter than ever with mega nights 6 times a year at Fabric’s awesome new 2500 capacity London club ‘Matter’. BK continues to cause a riot across the world with the most recent Riot! party hitting the slopes in France this week as part of Andorra’s The Big Snow Festival.

On top of the successful Riot!, he calls two other of the most revolutionary UK hard dance events home, holding residencies at Frantic’s Convergence and Kinky’s Trade. This appeal also makes BK majorly sought after for large-scale events and festivals around the world. BK has headlined and appeared at all of the biggest dance events, including Godskitchen, Dance Valley, Global Gathering UK, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System UK, Impulse NL, Creamfields UK, NEC UK, Judgement Sunday Ibiza, Lashed in Ibiza, Gallery UK, Slinky UK, and Code Japan.

BK’s albums and compilations have also reaped huge success through the years, with his series of Nukleuz Presents compilations (including Hard House Anthems) earning multiple Mixmag “Album of the Year” awards and the 2003 release Extreme Euphoria (mixed By Lisa Lashes, BK, and The Tidy Boys) still the highest-selling hard house album ever. On top of this his solo Euphoria album once again redefined the sound of hard dance. Many of his tracks have become UK Top 10 hits, but BK is best known for breaking down the barriers with “Revolution”, which, with the support of Judge Jules and Dave Pearce, entered BBC Radio One’s daytime rotation in 2002 – a stand out accomplishment for a hard dance track.

Fast forward to 2010 and BK’s own record label Riot! continues to storm the dance charts.  The past 12 months have been highly successful for BK, with his last five releases receiving major endorsement from Radio 1’s Judge Jules and Kutski. While under his moniker ‘Black Russian’ he’s No.1 in the Ibiza club charts with ‘In for the Kill’ La Roux, Black Russian/ Tristan Ingram Remix, (receiving major support from Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and Sander van Doorn).

BK is recognized as not only a genre-defining producer, but is possibly also the most influential DJ in the hard dance scene. His impressive talent has created a new direction for the future of hard dance, be sure not to miss out!
