“It’s a mixture between melodic, emotional kinda stuff and just loop-driven techno grooves. That’s what I like, basically.”

The Dutch are known for many things. Known to be liberal, tolerant and fun loving, their musical exports are also just as laissez-faire. Take Bart B More, one of Holland’s finest exports. Over the past few years More has toiled away within the Dutch music scene, pounding speakers with his big room sound of electro and blood rocking beats.

Holland may be the world’s trance hub, but Bart B More is championing Dutch electro house. The DJ, real name Bart van der Meer, is probably best known as the man behind Toolroom Trax release So It Goes. The track positioned More as a musical force, particularly when Nic Fanciulli and James Zabiela grabbed the track and added it to high rotation. And then there’s the small matter of Pete Tong crowning So It Goes as his Essential New Tune on his hugely influential Essential Selection radio show on the BBC. He’s also known for his remix of Sandy Rivera’s Freak to that Finally “versus” with Oliver Twizt.

More grew up listening to house music and has developed his own unique musical persona and identity. Although Holland is known as Trance Central, More has fostered Dutch house via his Secure record label.

But it all started when he released his debut Newschool Cuts EP. The record started life in the Dutch underground scene, becoming a mainstay of top Dutch jocks as it topped the charts. Newschool Cuts EP soon crossed Europe and found its way into the record boxes of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Mark Knight and Bob Sinclar.
Proving that his magic isn’t restricted to the studio, More knows how to rip up dance floors and is regular musical force. Forget tulips from Amsterdam and windmills, the Dutch are also known to be leaders in churning out quality music. Are you ready for a little bit More?
