As the saying goes, timing is everything. With his smoking-hot cut ‘London To Paris’ burning holes through dancefloors and home stereos alike, what could be sweeter than a tour from Italian groove merchant Mowgli!
The DJ/producer has been on fire in recent times, with last year’s bootleg of the Chemical Brothers’ ‘Do It Again’ getting flogged by Pete Tong and Annie Mac on Radio 1, with the producer similarly garnering props courtesy of his spankin’ ‘Club Life’ EP and a string of re-rubs for X-press-2, Tricky and Simian Mobile Disco.
The accolades haven’t stopped in 2009. His contemporaries across fidget house, techno and electro were positively salivating when the white-hot producer dropped his ‘Nu Skool’ EP recently, with lead track ‘London To Paris’ receiving love from Sinden, Riva Starr, Brodinski, Teki Latex, Radioclit, Malent, Lee Mortimer, Edu K and Mikey Slim, among many others.
In Australia, we’re eating it up too. The track is currently buzzing at no.14 in the ARIA Club Charts, while Ministry Of Sound patriarch Goodwill included it on his coveted Annual mix CD release. The track rubs shoulders with a troupe of current anthems and future classics and gives a nod to Mowgli ballooning popularity in the Antipodes.
With Mowgli’s tracks making mincemeat out of dancefloors across the country, the Italian is ripe ‘n’ ready to induce maximum sonic mentalism when he hits Australia and New Zealand throughout January.
